Hi, I’m Fariha Iffath
Data Scientist
Welcome to my website! I'm a Data Scientist currently working as an Associate Data Scientist at Braintoy, where I evaluate AI-enabled products and design data-driven training programs. I graduated in November 2024 with a Master's degree in Computer Science from the
University of Calgary, where, under the guidance of Dr. Marina Gavrilova, my research focused on human aesthetics for biometric identification.
Most recently, as a Research Associate at the University of Calgary, I built and maintained a bias-detection and mitigation data pipeline for clinical and healthcare datasets. If you're interested in learning more about my research projects, feel free to visit my research page.
I'm passionate about applying data science to health and clinical research — building reliable data pipelines, running statistical and machine learning analyses on complex healthcare datasets, and communicating findings clearly to interdisciplinary teams of clinicians, biostatisticians, and epidemiologists. My broader interests span computer vision, signal processing, natural language processing, deep learning, and data analysis, and throughout my journey I've leveraged deep learning techniques across a range of computer vision tasks, as well as security and privacy, NLP, and advanced data analysis methodologies.
Across both research and applied data science work, I draw on transfer learning models, meta-heuristic feature optimization techniques, deep fusion models, and data-driven insights to address complex challenges effectively.
